Training

Our training is based on positive reinforcement and operant conditoning.  We do use clickers and supply them to all of our clients.  We keep our classes small so that everyone gets the attention they need, generally not any more than six dogs.  Family members are welcome to come watch, as it is important to keep everything consistant when dealing with our dogs and especially puppies.  We offer a variety of classes, as well as private lessons either here or another location, and in-kennel training.  Please call or email with any questions you might have.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons are a great way to work on troublesome issues such as separation anxiety, pulling on the leash, and aggression issues.  These lessons can be done here or some where else for an additional fee.  We also offer consultations and evaluations if you are interested.  The costs for these services are listed below.  Please contact us for appointments or questions.

Group Classes

Puppy Class

This is a fun, laid back class for you and your puppy.  We will expose your puppy to new things, begin their socialization, and cover some very simple obedience.  This is a six week course, consisting of one class per week, lasting one hour.

Basic Obedience Class

This is a very basic obedience class.  We will discuss some manner issues, as well as teaching the sit, down, walking on lead, and a recall.  This is a six week course, consisting of one class per week, lasting one hour.

Advanced Obedience Class

This class is offered to those who have successfully completed the Basic obedience class.  In this class, we will continue to work with those commands already learned and incorporate them into other exercises and behavior issues. Commands including walking by others on lead, sitting when meeting someone, a placement command, and a long down will be covered.  This is a six week course, consisting of one class per week, lasting one hour.

In-Kennel Training

This is for the dog owner that may not have the time to dedicate towards training but would like to have some manners and obedience taught to their dog by a training professional.   This program requires the owner to drop off the dog for three weeks.  While staying with us he/she will be taught six basic commands which include a sit, down, long down, walking on a leash, a recall or come command, and a place command.  The cost for this basic in-kennel training is $550.  If other training is needed, such as for certain dog sports, more extensive obedience, retriever work, or specific behavior issues, we can accommodate you.  Fees for this service begin at $700 per month and may change depending on how extensive the training will get.  All fees, requirements, and costs will be discussed before this training begins and we offer a free evaluation for clients that are  interested.
